Perfection! Best onion rings I ever had! Great food,great staff. In downtown clear so that you can do plenty of shopping to work off all that great food!

The best burgers in Michigan without a doubt. Small place. Don’t blink or you will miss it. You may have to wait for a table. Not long. Worth the wait.

It's a nice place to eat during the week , I was surprised at the hired help on Saturday will not explain whether you can eat outside or not . These young people are rude and act in a too bad attitude.. I'm glad I don't pay school taxes , they only care about themselves!

Absolutely wonderful small restaurant in Clair. Small place with BIG portions! They have the best burgers in town, and breakfast is always on point! This place has become a set stop everytime we travel up north! Usually busy but always worth the wait.

Amazing food! Amazing service! Only about 6 booths in the tiny restaurant but it's cozy. Outside seating as well. I'll definitely be making the trip again just for the burgers.

I visit Clare Michigan quite often and finally wanted to try The Whitehouse restaurant. This place is always busy so I figured the food would be good. I was disappointed with my order. The food was drenched in oil. I normally give most places a five star. I wanted to do the same for the Whitehouse, but in good faith, couldn't. Sorry Whitehouse restaurant.

A long time meeting place. Good food good service

1st time visiting this legendary iconic burger establishment. Lived up to all I've heard and then some. Food was fantastic! The dining and cook area was even better than I visualized from all I've heard. Love this kind of burger joint. Definitely in my favorites and will stop in again when in the area. The cook was amazing, fun to watch and is extremely good at what she does. Great place to experience.

The Service was Good the waitress was very friendly. The food was disappointing. We had lunch there on St.Pateicks Day for a treat, and I ordered a philly steak sandwich and my wife had a burger and fries. The steak sandwich should have been on the kids menu for the portion was fit for a kid. $7 felt hungry after had to go to McDonald's because I had little cash left after a $17 bill for two people to eat sandwiches one water

Walk back in time with food that is very tasty.just like a 1940s dinner

Waited 35 minutes for 2 burgers, not sure why, wasn't that busy! Good regular burger but mushroom n swiss needed a mushroom sauce, very dry. Recommend golden mushroom soup for a sauce, it's sooo good!

The cutest little place I've ever seen! Besides the occasional short wait, there is nothing bad to say about this place. The woman who waited on us was just adorable. Our food was delicious, came out quickly, and was heaping on the plates. There was a wonderful cook just working away at the grill, and then a big lumberjack lookin fella who was very nice and got us our silverware and served our food. This is an incredible little restaurant. Only 6 tables but it's a must if you like good food and small dinners. It's so old dinner, small building uneven floor, old tables and seats.  You sit right next to this open grill. You can watch the cook prepare your meal as she talks to many of the guests sitting next to the grill. I ate the Scottish omelet it was huge and tasted great. You can get ilkbreakfast any time! Most the guest I saw ordering or eating were having burgers for lunch, the burgers, fries,  onions rings all looked awesome. You can get breakfast any time! Amazing food! staff and atmosphere excellent as well. Super tiny in space absolutely huge on flavor and portion. Probably the best gravy I have ever had. Highly recommend this place, we stopped through during a weekend road trip. Will find out way back through at some point.

Best idea yet grilled cheese as buns for a burger

Lovely atmosphere. the cook was a stunner good at his craft, good attitude, friendly & knowledgable. The chili was the best i’ve had in years and the burgers were to die for (a bacon cheeseburger with a sunnyside up egg & a philly burger.) Waitresses were a little distracted but it was busy & for a good reason!!!

Great cheap food. Cozy restaurant with lots of outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Staff is incredibly nice and attentive.

Loved it! Great place to stop in for lunch on your way Up North. Burgers were fantastic and it was great to be able to feed a family of four for under $30! We will be repeat customers!

Good and generous helping of food. But because it is so small, you might not get in right away. There is only like 8 tables in which holds maybe 4 per table. But the food and service is worth the wait.

This little "greasy spoon" diner has wonderful, home cooked meals. The owner is quite gifted at making unique and delicious soups!! Try one of the desserts!

This is a cool place to eat. A lot of people call it a greasy burger joint but that's ok because it kind of is. Extremely small just a few tables and the grill all in the same room. But I think that's neat to sit and watch the cook make your food while you're sitting there. They have a wide variety of different burgers to choose from and so far they've all been good. If you're visiting the Clare area give this quaint little place a try

Simply the best hamburgers around. They also have great breakfast. Place is small but there is an outdoor area in the summer. The staff is fantastic.

Stopped while on a road trip. I had the cherry burger--delicious! My husband had the double bacon cheeseburger and loved it as well. Kids loved the French toast. Cute place, friendly family restaurant.

Teeny, tiny hamburger joint in Clare, MI, but oh what burgers! My husband had a peanut butter burger. You'd think that would be gross, but he said it was delicious. I had a basic cheeseburger, but there was nothing basic about the taste. My sweet potato fries were also great. Prepare to wait outside on the sidewalk, though. There's no place to stand inside and only 6 booths. It was a fun stop and worth the wait!
